California-based software giant Oracle has announced that it has selected Chile as the location for a global support center to serve the company’s clients in the U.S. and Canada as well as other Latin American countries. The Center, which will be housed in a new five-story building and employ some 290 engineers, will handle sales and the delivery of computer programs and licenses and provide customer support over the telephone and via Internet.
The center – Oracle’s first such facility in Latin America – will be developed with the support of the High-Tech Investment Promotion and Attraction Program of CORFO, the Chilean government’s economic development agency (by Bussiness Chile) .
